Where midiverse goes next

midiverse is built one phase at a time. Phase 1 is live and in use today, phase 2 is what the work goes into next, and phase 3 is deliberately still open.

    Audio to MIDI

    Upload any solo piano recording and get every note back as MIDI, split into left and right hand. This is what midiverse does today.

    • Every note and the sustain pedal, from a phone recording upwards
    • Automatic left and right hand separation
    • Falling-note practice mode, plus a full piano-roll editor
    • Download the whole arrangement or each hand on its own

  2. Phase 2

    Next up

    Sheet music generator and export

    The same transcription, turned into notation you can actually read from. MIDI knows exactly when a note started; sheet music has to decide what that means in beats, and getting that decision right is the whole job.

    • More accurate hand separation
    • Better extraction of the piano sound in a recording consisting of multiple instruments
    • Better piano player and practice mode
    • Rhythms rounded to real note values, with the key and time signature worked out for you
    • A proper grand staff: correct beaming, rests and stem directions
    • Export to PDF for printing, and MusicXML for MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale and more
    • Edit the notation and hear the change straight away

  3. Phase 3

    There is a phase 3, and something big is already in the works. It is not ready to be talked about yet, and what lands here depends partly on what people ask for once notation is out.
